Technology Interest -- Week 3 Thing 7

This has been so much fun. Learning something new and it's actually fun. I had a hard time getting started, but now I find that I'm having a hard time stopping. One thing that I love about technology is it's convenience and adaptability. Right now I am sitting in a big swing in my back yard, way out in the country, using a laptop. There are no wires connecting me or restricting me in any way. I am so relaxed and yet the world is at my fingertips. I know that sometimes technology is a pain, but it is also a very vital part of today's society. I am very glad to be learning and growing in my knowledge and usage of this tool.

Mappr -- Week 3 Thing 6

Mappr is a very interesting. I have always enjoyed maps very much and I like to mark all the places in the world that I have friends. This program makes it easy to create some very unique maps with wonderful pictures. This could really be neat to use in the classroom while studying almost any subject.

Flickr -- Week 3 Thing 5

I have just spent a couple of hours on Flickr. What a neat site. The pictures there are awesome. I just sat and looked and looked, some more. I wanted to share all of the pictures with my husband. I just knew that he would love them, too.

I have put one of the pictures on this blog. It is a picture of a sunset. This is just about my favorite time of day. So, I thought that this picture would be appropriate for my blog. There is also a link to some other sunset pictures.

Blogging -- Week 2

I'm blogging! How exciting. This is a new experience for me and I must admit that I am enjoying it. Who knew? Of course, creating the avatar was fun also. However, my 19 year old son tells me that I'll have to make some changes and give myself a little more character. After all being Battwoman requires a special look. I guess he's right. We'll see what we can come up with.

Being a Lifelong Learner -- Week 1

Being a lifelong learner has great rewards. While on the quest I have discovered that there are habits that a lifelong learner must acquire. Some of them seem to come naturally to me. For instance, setting goals and taking responsibility for my own learning has always been very easy for me. It is also natural for me to turn to technology when I need answers to life's many questions. However, there is one habit that is very hard for me and that is to take time to play. My children say that I am a workaholic and that I never take time to relax. So, I can see that my greatest challenge in becoming a lifelong learner will be for me to learn to relax and play.
